MEET DR. NICK
Hey there, I’m Nick—founder of Somatic Physical Therapy and a guy who’s been on both sides of the treatment table. I started my career in high-volume physical therapy clinics, juggling way too many patients and burning out fast. It didn’t feel right rushing care just to keep up with the schedule, so I stepped away from patient care altogether for five years. During that time, I specialized in EMG and NCV testing to diagnose nerve injuries. It was cool work, but I missed my passion - helping people actually feel better.
Then, everything changed. After a car accident left me with whiplash and stubborn neck pain, I experienced the power of one-on-one, personalized care for the first time. A skilled PT used dry needling and hands-on techniques that actually worked—and for the first time in a long time, I felt like myself again. That experience didn’t just help me heal—it completely reshaped how I view physical therapy.
In 2017, I launched Somatic PT with the mission to deliver the kind of care I wish I had received earlier: focused, thoughtful, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. I’ve been helping people recover from chronic pain and movement limitations ever since, with a strong emphasis on clinical results and good, old-fashioned human connection.
I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 2009, and I never stop learning—right now I’m working toward my Neurac Redcord certification. I’m also trained in dry needling and still perform EMG/NCV testing for nerve injuries. Whether you’re recovering from a crash, battling persistent pain, or trying to avoid surgery, I’m here to help you move better and feel stronger.
Outside the clinic, I’m a husband to my amazing wife Nikki (yes, Nick and Nikki—it’s a whole thing), a dad to our wild and wonderful son Sanders, and dog-dad to Zeus the Doberman. We’re also getting ready to welcome a baby girl this fall! I recharge with mountain biking, golf, snowboarding, and the occasional jam session on the guitar.
If you’re tired of feeling stuck, rushed, or unheard, I’d love to show you a different approach to care—one that actually works.
Take the first step towards a pain-free life.
